So I am trying to get ssh working on my server. I can connect on my local network with the local ip address of the server perfectly fine.
I'm running DD-WRT firmware on my router, version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/12/11) std.
I'm trying to port forward http traffic on port 80 to my PC's local IP, 192.168.2.97, and although I can browse my hosted site on my LAN, when I try from a remote IP offsite I get "The Connection has timed out".
Hello my friends , i am totally stuck in ssh port forwarding topic
i had learn iptables and other networking topic without any problem but ssh port forwarding is headache
1. local port = what is this ? is this incoming traffic or outgoing traffic
2. remote port = same as above
3.
What's the most effective way to monitor SSH access in Gentoo Linux?
My Gentoo box is operating locally behind my broadband router. I have SSH port forwarding on the router and a DNS entry pointing to my router on the internet.
Hi All,
SSH is timing out when I try to connect on my local system using my external IP/hostname. Using SSH from a remote system to the local system works, as does connecting using my local network IP.
Hi Guys,
First this problem has nothing to do with Ubuntu because my exact setup was working fine with my old router. I haven't had any luck searching for my problem on search engines or this site. Maybe there is an expert here or someone who has had the problem that can help. Thanks in advance for reading.
I'm having trouble getting port forwarding to work and don't know what to try next. I am testing it using NetCat for windows.
I have one machine (A) connecting directly to the internet, and another (B) connecting to the internet through a sky router.
If I listen for a connection on A, and connect to it with B, it works.
I try to connect to my server from internet and get always:
debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0
debug1: connect to address XX.XX.XX.69 port 22: Connection refused
ssh: connect to host XX.XX.XX.69 port 22: Connection refused
But from local area network with 192.168.... all works fine. Why this difference?
Note I tested with telnet XX.XX.XX.69 port 22 is open
I have a website setup behind a router, so the router has the external facing address and it will forward requests to the webserver inside the network. If there are X number of invalid login attempts, that IP address will be blocked from logging in.
