Still having the same issue :( Nobody that has any idea? Pretty annoying that Remote Desktop closes after a few seconds and i have no idea where to troubleshoot.(I noticed a typo in my... [by GamesBond]
I connect to a remote webserver from my home machine using FTP. However, if I don't do anything in FTP for a minute or two, the remote server closes the connection. Consequently, I have to do some stuff in my ftp prompt, like ls or cding a few times to prevent the connection from being closed.
I am trying to login to a remote server via SSH. The command which I used is ssh user@server. The command hangs for few seconds (probably trying to establish connection) and then automatically exits returning my prompt back. What does this mean? This is the issue with the remote server as I am able to login to some another remote server through my local host. How do I troubleshoot this issue?
I have an existing xubuntu server running on my local network. I set up x11vnc and it starts at the login screen, so I can login myself. The only problem is that every time I log in, the vnc connection closes, my vnc viewer (Remmina Remote Desktop Client) window closes, and as soon as I click connect again, I'm back at an empty login screen as if nothing happened.
My work computer, a Windows 7 Enterprise PC called WORKPC, is running Remote Desktop. I have configured Windows Firewall on WORKPC to allow access to the Remote Dekstop service from only two IP addresses: IP1 and IP2.
IP1 comes from a commercial VPN service that allocates me a static IP address.
I recently purchased a Sony Vaio Pro 13 Ultrabook with Windows 8 and I have an issue when connected to the VPN at work where it freezes every few minutes while using Remote Desktop through Juniper. After about 10 seconds it displays a dialog about the connection being lost and it retries and the connection is restored.
