I downloaded, compiled remmina and freerdp from the source repositories. Unlikely I am having troubles in RDP connections. When I initiate any RDP connection from Remmina, Remmina is closed immidialtely.
I tried to open freerdp from terminal, it worked like a charm. I tried to open remmina from terminal to check errors.
Until sometime last night, I had remmina working fine. I could run RDP through an SSH tunnel and all was well.
Then it stopped working. I can get as far as the password dialog for my work machine, but then it just says "Cannot connect to RDP server localhost".
I can't even find any logs that look interesting.
I want to try Ubuntu 12.04 and test remmina RDP viewer (I hear it is a good one). However I am in no mood to download the DVD. Does remmina come in the CD download? Can someone confirm?
PS: I do not have an internet connection on the system I need to try it on - just an internal network.
Regards
I have not changed Remmina preferences and suddenly, the keys 'b', 'd', 't', etc., were almost sending Super + key to the VM. So if I open a remote desktop session with Remmina, those keys do not work as normal. And suddenly the problem is gone and I can remember pressing Win/Super key with the VM on the foreground.
It looks like KRDC isn't awful, but I'm really disappointed with Remmina (after trying to work with it since April), and I'm equally disappointed that tsclient is unsupported.

Remmina 是一个新进的 GTK+ 远程桌面客户端,提供了
RDP、VNC、XDMCP、SSH 等远程连接协议的支持。
这个客户端最大的优点在于界面清爽,方便易用,创建远程连接的界面与
Windows 自带的远程桌面十分相近。即使是熟习于 Windows
的朋友也不会感到陌生。
I am using the Remmina remote desktop connection on Ubuntu 12.04 to create RDP connection. The system on the remote desktop is Windows Server 2003 RC Standard 64 edition which logs off by itself randomly. It terminates the connection, so you have to re-connect.
For example: Terminates when I want to switch to another application or simply change the desktop.
I'm trying to connect to a Windows server with remmina. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and I use colemak as a keyboard layout locally.
When logging on to the Windows server my colemak keyboard layout is not mapped across. I have have ticked 'Use client keyboard mapping' in preferences, but this does not seem to make a difference...
Anyone aware of a workaround or something for this?
Cheers,
Eugene.
