I have a server running 3 WordPress instances, MySql, Apache and the play framework 2.0 on 64m initial & max heap. If I increase the max heap of the JVM that play is running in even by 16m I see the 128m of swap space steadily fill up until the the JVM dies.
I notice that it is only when I am plugging away at the wordpress sites that the JVM will die.
This is my first post on these forums, and I have to say so far I have loved the site. I am pursuing a CS degree from Tufts and cannot wait to get started participating in this forum. Anyway, here is my question:
I set up a server (Win 7, Apache 2.2, PHP5, MySql, Filezilla FTP Srvr) and registered a domain name.
I am planning on renting a VPS.
How much memory is required for a base setup of Debian, Apache, Mysql, PHP?
By base, I mean not considering traffic (which will be below 1k hits a day). No complicated databases or memory eating scripts.
For reference, I would consider 512MB more than I need.
Hi,
This is my problem:
- I install and configure apache,php,mysql-server
- configure database on mysql and wp-config od Wordpress
- upload files wordpress in to public_html
and... i see results "blank page".
What is it? Where is problem?
About two months ago I was (am) having problems getting PHP 5.2.1 working with Apache 2.063 on Solaris 10 (Update 8). Apache was on the Solaris 10 distribution, and I got the PHP binary from Sunfreeware.com. I run php in command line, and it works well. When I try to run in a browser, PHP does not work.
I am using Django, wsgi with apache, but the server is really slow when I try to insert data into mysql server. It takes 1 second to insert 200 rows in a table. The strange thing is that only 3% of CPU and memory is used by apache and mysql.
I want to install Apache, MySQL and php5 on a desktop computer, as per the instructions at http://www.howtoforge.com/installing...ntu-11.04-lamp
Then simply install/run a 'copy' of a Wordpress site locally.
I'm concerned with the extra "load" this will place on the desktop computer.
I'm still learning my ways around on my localhost server, whih is running Apache 2.2, Coldfusion8 and MySQL Server 5.5 (on Windows XP).
I need to work on a site I inherited, which also ran some PHP scripts under the same setup.
As a relatively new Arch-user(but still longtime linux-user mainly under Debian), I set out to setup a small local development-server consisting of mainly apache and mysql, and since I own a few domain-names, I was also going to set up some virtual hosts for certain subdomains. While I rushed into doing this after installing apache and configuring systemd for it, I noticed my dear and beloved /etc/
