I installed HP laserprinter 1020 [USB] on pclinux gnome with the help of Printerdrake and it works fine. But, when the system is restarted, printer will not work. This might be due to not hotplugging the printer. How to load the firmware each time when the printer is switched on automatically ?
I have been looking around for info on this and so far it doesn't look good. Dell's site gives nothing. Other Linux forums either say it just won't work or it might work listed as a Lexmark printer (nobody said which one that I could find). Consequently, I come here to the source of all wisdom Slackware and ask the question; has anyone installed this and gotten it to work properly?
Its not in the repo's. Its not in anything online that actually works. If i download the pack i either have the older versions of required packages or I dont have them all together. Now i cant get on any of the servers I did before because they upgraded, and I cant.

Tired of not knowing anything except Windows. Bought a Dell mini with Ubuntu 8.04 installed on it and I'm working on learning Unix from the command line. This Forum ought to be helpful once I get a little further along.
Running Mandriva One 2010, wireless works great in Live mode. When installed, I can only connect to unsecured networks (BTFon, BTOpenzone) but not to my own BTHomeHub network, which has a WPA key. I guess the problem is something to do with wpa_supplicant, but I'm not 100% sure what to do about it.
