I have a Galaxy Gio GT-S5660V (Australia) with a 16GB SD card, having (currently) a 500MB ext2fs partition in addition to the FAT32 partition.
I'm new to the forum, and I'm hoping to stick around and participate cause I'm really into my Android (JRO03C, v. 4.1.1). Tonight I successfully rooted it, which is awesome, however I'm baffled by one thing.
It was my understanding that when you unlock / root your phone (e.g. through Nexus Root Toolkit), you lose all the data on your phone.
So I did the HTC unlock after receiving my Asurion claim (1.19 Hboot) a couple months ago. I haven't messed around with it much because I've been busy irl. I installed TWRP, Fresh, and just recently the "deSensed ICS ~ Dialer, Tumblers & Apps! -Updated Mean4.4 & Goodies2.11!" theme.
Just got a Razr M and of course 1 day later I HAVE to root it. So I used the root 'Sticky'd' to this forum and now I need to get rid of all the bloatware thats been makin me bonkers since i activated this phone.
I used Titanium for all my rooting business. I usually just freeze apps for the possibility of upcoming OS updates.
OK, I am not sure if my phone is rooted now or for sure 100%. What I can tell you is that I do have the following apps installed and did run Root Checker from the market. It did tell me I have root access.
Installed -
Root Explorer
BusyBox
Superuser
All of which are telling me that they are rooted.
Ok now with that being said here is my problem.
Well I think at least (as a Noob) I am posting this in the proper place.
Anyway, I have the ota JB update plus root but I seem to be finding less free apps and more pay for apps. In fact one of the apps I had but uninstalled, when I was on the custom codename android rom is now no longer free.
Hi all,
I just picked up a new microSD card for my Samsung Galaxy Note (international version), and after I put it into the phone, it seems that some of my apps are 'missing' and their icons have been greyed-out. I understand this means that the apps were installed onto the original SD card, but I'd like to know how to swap them back over to the phone.
I installed stock OTA JB a couple of days ago and lost root access. I tried using Voodoo to restore root but that failed. Finally I used Wugs tool and it seemed to be successful. Titanium Backup is working as rooted as so do a couple of other root apps.
I just installed Barnicle, and when I went to run it, it indicated that I was not rooted.
Hey sorry I'm new to this whole rooted phone business and for starters would just like to unlock my phone. I have a galaxy s2 sgh-t989d version 2.3.5, kernal 2.6.35.11, gingerbread. TLKJ3. I rooted my phone with recovery-cmw-hercules on odin3 v1.85 and installed CWM-SuperSU-v0.87. So as far as I know my phone is rooted but no apps seem to be able to get my a unlock code.
