I just got an HP Envy dv7 series laptop which came with Windows 8. I used Windows tools to remove the recovery drive and shrink the main windows partition to make room for Fedora 18. The installation process for Fedora went reasonably smoothly and I now have a system with a working Fedora and Windows 8 both booting with Secure Boot enabled.
I had Fedora 15 on a computer, dual booted with Windows 7. I did a fresh install of Fedora 17, but in the process I seem to have wiped out its capability to boot Windows 7, which I'm pretty sure is still on the disk.
My plan is to install grub on the /boot partition of the new Fedora 17 and then fix the MBR to boot Windows and use Easy BCD under Windows to dual boot.

Dear Friends,
My notebook and desktop run perfectly on dual systems: Win7 and fedora 17. As I follow the installation procedure suggested by the redhat / earlier fedora system, both my machines have the separated and cleared partitions; for windows, boot, swap and boot partition.
Previous tutorials published on this website about dual-booting Fedora and Windows 7 have shown how to do it by creating partitions for Fedora manually, either on an existing or a new installation of Windows 7. This tutorial will show how to do it, by modifying the logical volumes automatically configured by Anaconda, the Fedora system [...]
