A few people on the IRC think this would be a good idea and I personally loved the CLI apps in #! 9.04 as I use CLI apps most of the time anyway. So the community think it would be a good idea to start a poll and see if there is enough interest.

Just got some new Cores and RAM in last week, wamnted to stress test them and see if they were any good.

It's better if people mix a few stress-relieving activities in their daily work schedule, like playing harmless and non-offensive pranks on others which can act as stress busters.

Ok, so, long story short. I have a CentOS 5.8 VPS running WHM/cPanel and I used the MySQL upgrade link in WHM. Went from 5.0.x to 5.1.x and it was really easy. Figured MySQL 5.5.x was listed so it must be a good idea to upgrade. Needless to say my server melted down.

Hi, I'm completely new to linux, I'm using RedHat for the first time. I have installed it and mounted a SAN disk and created a ext3 file system. I can copy files there, all seems to work.

But I want to generate infinite IO load to the SAN storage, which means, I want to stress it for testing.

Im a student in computing and id like to do some project around Linux. I got a rough idea of creating a patch for kernel but im not good at C. If that is easy, id start C studies. I would be thankful for your idea?

Easy install F18 with SSD disk 13 weeks 3 days ago

Hi all! I have ordered a new mashine and started thinking about how to install F18 on it. I have a 240GB SSD disk and a 2TB "ordinary" disk. I have been searching for a good way to use the SSD disk, but there so many different suggestions on how to set it up. If I just use standard settings from anaconda I asume it does not get so good. I installed for testing win server 2008 and its really easy to get remote access. Just enable RA with one click and then im able to get access with my win 7 with mstsc.exe - IF I would install a linux server, lets say ubuntu server because I heard its the easiest for newbies like me, can I get remote access that easy too with mstsc? Would everything work that easy?
