http://unix.stackexchange.com – I using CentOS 6.4 and have a small problem with using read in /etc/rc.local file. It will allow keyboard entry but does not echo any of the key strokes during input. Anyone know what's going on here? #!/bin/sh # # This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts. # You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't # want to do the full Sys V style init stuff. echo -n "name? " read name echo "Name: $name" touch /var/lock/subsys/local produces (/var/log/boot.log): name? Name: john (HowTos)
