I have just installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS.Everything seems to be fine but when i insert usb modem on usb port,pc hangs! So,i turned off power and insert the modem. This time my pc doesn't hang! That means when pc is on,inserting usb drives on ports causes hangs.I have another question,My desktop board is intel DG965RY and it comes with various drivers in a CD.There are serial port drivers, chipset drive
I have just installed Mint9.Dual booting with Windows 7. My keyboard doesn't work and the right click on the mouse doesn't work. I am able to type in my password on startup, but no time after that. If it ask me for authentication, I am unable to type in my password. One time only I recieved this message: "Could not grab your keyboard.
I was trying to to use ubuntu hard drive on another pc (2), but couldn't get the graphics to work. I was only using gnome on 2. Since it didn't work, I moved the drive back to 1, but the newly created problem came back with the drive.
Since two weeks or so my system sometimes suddenly locks up (ubuntu 12.04). Meaning that I can see my screen, but mouse/keyboard doesn't work and when I press the power button (short) it doesn't suggest to shut down.
Other times it will just reboot randomly. Then when it starts up again it will hang on the boot check 9/10 times.
So I think it's a hardware issue.
64-bit lucid lynx server
According to Ubuntu Software Center, Tight VNC Server is installed. However, mlocate doesn't show any vnc files in any *bin directory
ps -A doesn't show a vnc service running
none of the menus have an item for vnc server
I can connect to the ubuntu computer from a Windows vnc client. I can use the keyboard to type in the password.
Hi guys , After I had updated to 11.10 version , I discovered that the mouse doesn't work , The mouse pointer appears at the log screen but it doesn't work and after log the mouse cursor disappears completely , I am controlling the cursor now by the keyboard but it's too difficult , I have updated and upgraded through terminal but nothing changed , So what is the solution ??
I'm running Debian 6 with Gnome in a VM. Gnome wouldn't start because the entire partition got filled up. First thing I did was enlarge the partition size but it still wouldn't run. I booted into the CLI and removed a lot of unnecessary files and now Gnome will run but it accepts absolutely no input. No keyboard shortcuts work and the mouse pointer doesn't even appear.
So, it's almost all in the title ;) . I don't get it , it worked on openSUSE 11.0 (I use 11.2 now, with Gnome environment). Same story on my laptop keyboard and the external USB Trust keyboard. It doesn't make any difference if I use any other layout: Serbian latin , Serbian cyrilic, USA, Croatian, Bosnian... Also it doesn't make any difference if I use alt, win, or the ctrl key for that.
I recently upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04, I have a wireless Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse (both ise the same dongle) my mouse works but the keyboard doesn't (it types random things) but my wired keyboard works just fine, is there a fix for this?
