At the time of this writing, 02SEP2012, the only ARM release of Backtrack 5 is the original one that came out in May of 2011. If any of you have tried running this on an Android phone or tablet, then you will have noticed that it is lacking some functionality.
You will need a rooted Galaxy S3.
BackTrack 5 R2 is available for download now. BackTrack is an Ubuntu-based distro that has a collection of security and forensics tools. Learn more about the fastest and best release of BackTrack yet..

Hello guys,
I have been trying to find some good information on how to install backtrack to my external drive but there isnt much about it. I have asked at the backtrack forums but nothing from them yet.
I decided to ask here since backtrack is based on ubuntu.
Basically I want to install backtrack on my external drive. I have a new one with 1 TB and want to use all of it for backtrack.
Hi.
I installed backtrack 5 r3 32 gnome iso to my usb flash drive on my laptop (which is 32 bit system with win7 os) with the unetbootin exe. I went into bios and changed the boot settings to boot from usb. When it restarts it takes me to the unetbootin screen where it has the options (default/backtrack text/ backtrack no drm etc).
When I was using backtrack, a screen popped up saying that there is an upgrade to kubuntu (inside backtrack) 12.10. I accepted it.
Subsequently, the OS became Kubuntu 12.10 generic pae instead of Ubuntu 8. something as it originally was.
Now even ever I startup, it will lead me to a GUI screen and ask me to log in.
As title, I want to know how to install Backtrack 5 to USB. I have a 16GB USB. Should I Split partition, one for install BackTrack, and one for daily use? Note that I want Full Install, like install Ubuntu to HDD, not live. Because LiveUSB, when shutdown, every documents on that session will be deleted. So I want to know how to install Full Backtrack 5 to USB, and can boot on other Machine.
Matriux Krypton is an operating system similar to Backtrack. (For penetration testing and hacking etc.) I have used backtrack, but I haven't tried Matriux yet. I am thinking of trying it, but I would like some recounts from you guys.
Is it better or worse than Backtrack?
Pros & Cons?
(I would go more in-depth with this thread, but I am in class right now and couldn't spend much time on it.
