Previously, I ran apt-get install rails, but that only installed rails 2, so I subsequently ran gem install rails. The output of that command clearly references rails 3, not 2:
Fetching: railties-3.2.9.gem (100%)
Fetching: bundler-1.2.3.gem (100%)
Fetching: rails-3.2.9.gem (100%)
# ...
...but rails -v outputs Rails 2.3.14. Gah! I can't run my rails local server!
I just got a fresh VM(Proxmox 1.9) instance of Ubuntu 12.04LTS.
I started using Terminator, the teminal emulator, but when I run a rails application it can't find Rails.
humberto@asterix:~$ rails -v
The program 'rails' can be found in the following packages:
* rails
* ruby-railties-3.2
Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>
Does anyone knows how to solve it?
I am trying to get Grails LDAP plugin to work with my Active Directory.
The plugin requires a lot of things which I'm not really familiar with as I don't know much about Active Directory.
Hi, I removed a package (from a custom PPA), and installed it from it's package source. Every time I open a new bash terminal I get an irritating message
[update-alternatives: error: no alternatives for grails.]. /etc/alternatives doens't have any grails entry listed though.

Make sure that gem install rails-boile
I'm inside of the terminal right now and just about to make a new application.
