I have a done very few posts since I am with OpenSuse 11.1.
I have upgraded to Gnome 2.6 and use compiz-fusion from X11:XGL repo.
For a while (I don't know how long), I don't see the expo, applicaiton ring/cover switcher,etc...
Other plugins work with no problem.
As you can see, I have installed all packages necessary:
GTK Window decorations is gone, Emerald window decorations is gone, compiz visual effects not working, Title bar is gone along with “close, minimize, maximize” buttons. Many of you guys maybe had to faced these problems before, usually happen when visual effect is active using compiz. so here i will show you how to easily fix these problems.

I have installed Compiz on Xubuntu 11.10 with
sudo apt-get install compiz compizconfig-settings-manager
compiz --replace ccp &
In the process the XFCE window decoration theme is overridden by that of Compiz (Gtk).
When I boot up or log into gnome-classic (no effects), windows don't have the frame around them that has the minimize and close buttons and all that. After that, there all sorts of issues - for example, when I open a new window, it's in the very top left corner, obscuring the menu on the gnome panel...
Well im using compiz fusion and it all seems to be good. cept a really annoying type lag when i would drag my windows, this isnt a really big deal, but things like this drive me crazy...So i stumbled across the solution.. simply right click ur compiz fusion icon, compiz options, and select loose binding..
I'm having trouble with compiz, since I upgraded to 12.04. I have an nvidia-card (GeForce 9600M GT). In general compiz works, but it has performance issues and rendering problems as in the following screenshot 1, that make usage impossible.

According to my research the loose-binding option could help solving the problem.
