Quick question about wiping in CWM

http://androidforums.com – Just to make sure I don't royally screw myself, when i'm flashing various roms, kernels, radios etc. what is necessary to wipe? I'm used to just doing a data/cache/dalvik wipe x3 before I flash things, but i'm thinking that might be a bit much. So, what is necessary to wipe pre-flash for: ROM - ? Kernel - ? Radio - ? And just for clarification, when flashing a nandroid no wiping is required right, we can just flash nand's straight away without issue? (as long as the OS versions are the same) Thanks (General)

First off if you're on ANY recovery that isn't CWM 5.0.2.7 you DO NOT NEED TDJS SUPER WIPE OR CACHE WIPE SCRIPTS!!!! Since this is the same ROM am I required to wipe/partition or would I be successful by only wiping the dalvik cache and flashing it right over it?

i had flash to GB roooted rom provided by dr.ketan using pc odin..and then full wipe..

then i switched to revovery mode in mobile.. installed speedmod kernel.. reboot recovery.. wipe all 3(cache, data, dalvik)

then selected crash rom zip file to install from zip card..

So back on my Evo 4G whenever I wanted to flash a new rom, I would load it on my SD card. Then boot into custom recovery and wipe cache/Dalvik... Then would wipe ALL data/factory reset. Then I would install my new rom off of my SD card.

With my S3, I cannot access anything on my SD via CWM recovery.

This has happened a couple of times to me and I have no clue what is happening. I tried flashing PACman rom and now AOKP and somehow when I do a wipe it messes with the sdcard. I lost my backups and titanium the first time and now I have even lost the rom I am trying to flash!!! And no I'm not wiping the sd card.

hello there! i'm a new little fellah in the rom flashing world, so i'm a little afraid before doing anything, so here's the situation :

i have a galaxy mini, rooted, and cwm is perfectly installed. i want to install this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2085347

In the description it's written to wipe data AND cache after every action.
