Hi, I think I'm ready to take the Plunge here...I think I want to Root my SGH-T989 but am not sure where to start. I found some places that tell help you AFTER you install ICS. , However, I have gone backwards, using Odin5, to Gingerbread 2.3.6 (T989UVDLE) Kernel: 2.6.35.11.

I have a few questions:

1. What do I need to do or where to go to start this process?

I've had an issue with tmobile replacing my t989 twice with screen burn damage or blob infested refurbs..anyways, today they have offered me a HTC One S as a replacement due to our T989 being on back order.

Just wanted to see if any one has any real world experience..

Hello Everybody

I have a Sim unlocked US Tmobile SGH-T989 on stock ROM 2.3.6.

I am using it in India. When I try to update it from settings menu it says "no firmware".

Currently my phone is unrooted and stock. How can I update it to ICS and also will I loose the Sim unlock if I update it.

I keep seeing posts about TDJ's modded radio for the t989 but no one seems to know how to post a link so others can download it.

I'm running Jellybean Android 4.1.1 aokp hercules unofficial nightly build. My gps lock is very slow and the sound echos. I am using radio UVLC8.

Where can I find TDJ's modded radio, UVLE1, UVLH1 and any other modded radios to try?

I am thinking of buying a PS3 controller to use with GTA and other games. Before I spend the money on the controller I am wondering if the app is compatible with the T989 Hercules? Thanks for any help!
