hi guys
when i was flashing roms before i had to manually flash boot.img in fastboot since i didnt have twrp
but i noticed the kernel is the same date as the rom i just flashed today (cm10)
do the new CWMs flash the boot.img ?
I just got an HTC One X, and it's already been rooted. The recovery is TWRP and that's all I know. I'm trying to flash a ROM, but first I need to flash the boot.img, and that's the problem. I can't. There's an automated process, and I followed the steps, got into fastboot usb but the program just sits on waiting for device.
I was flashing on MIUI V4 and was following the instructions. it instructed me to flash on the boot.img after flashing the rom
i proceeded to do so, but the boot.img failed to boot. i had to go do something so i powered my phone off from the bootloader. after that my phone would not turn on at all and the charging light would not turn on while charging.
Okay so I just picked this phone up... totally reminding me why i dumped my last motorola.
anyways, i rooted it, sim unlocked it, unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM and then flashed a 4.2.2 rom. wow, slow, buggy, lets go back to stock. loaded the 4.1.1 RSD file, edited the XML, then flashed... gets to flashing system then fails. WHY!? any ideas?
ok...so I just got the htc one x from att tonight...i followed the guide and unlocked the bootloader, then flashed twrp v2.3.1.0 and proceeded to try and flash viperx 2.6. first thing i did is use fastboot to flash the boot.img, then i went into recovery and flashed the rom.
Hey All. I Did my first flash ever with my Evo3d and the Viper Rom way back when it first came out. With the Rev tool to get unlock and S off. Now Ive had to have my phone replaced due to a bad digitizer and id like some ICS fun. But the Phone is now Hboot 1.50. Ive had Ramjet explain some stuff but still having some confusion. I did the HTC unlock and the phone is unlocked.
Can someone explain why this happens:
1. I flash CM9 nightly or latest release
2. Phone goes into boot loop
3. I power the phone up into the yellow boot loader screen and flash the Semaphore ICS kernel with Heimdall
4. The phone boots and runs OK
Why does the phone go into a boot loop until I flash the Semaphore kernel?
Which would be the best to do first guy, flash a SIM locked Orange 920 with debranded software then get the SIM unlocked removed or wait for the unlock code to come through, unlock the phone then flash new firmware?
The reason I ask is I know it will take a few days for the code to come through and I've heard stories of NCS being shut down.
I have rooted my SGY S5360 and am using the CWM skin thingy(every time u gotta flash it to use cwm-temporary cwm). before flashing a new rom i wish to clarify a few things:
1) can i make a cwm backup of stock rom?
