I have gt-i9100 updated to 4.0.4 xxlq6 and I was thinking about rooting. Then I read the thread about the brick bug and downloaded the "eMMC brickbug check" and it gave me the following information :
eMMC chip
Type : VYL00M
Date : 09/2011
CID : 15010056594c30304d19493508139ef1
FwRev : 0x19
Brick Bug?
YES.Insane chip.
Considering this information what should I do?
What is rooting ?
"Rooting" is the process which removes the
limitations in your mobile and you get more
control over many settings,features and
performance of your mobile.
Will rooting brick your phone ?
Most people use the term "bricked" inproperly.
*A phone stuck in a boot loop
*a phone that boots straight into recovery mode.
Are not called briked phones these
I have got a Galaxy S II . I bought it around a year ago . It was using gingerbread .
Hi guys,
First off....I've found this forum to be fantastic! I'm a relatively new member but have been looking at the forums well before joining. I have some questions on rooting. I have an old Droid 1 that I plan on rooting. I've been doing a lot of research on the topic with this being my first attempt at it.
Hey everyone - very new to android, just made the jump from the iPhone...A couple questions about rooting.
I'm super-confused after reading the plethora of information on these forums. It's embarrassing because I consider myself to be an above average tech user. Apparently not with Android devices!
So I admit I am an avid user/fanboy of iOS, and have been for some time. For my birthday, however, I got a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-5100), and I plan on making the most of it. On my iOS devices, I've jailbroken them, and I understand everything there is to gain and benefit from them. With Android, I'm lost.
Had a look on the forum cant find 100% confirmation hope you guys can help...
1) i have GT-I9100 running 2.3.5 and am looking to root can anyone link me to a good page/site, getting confused with the world wide web!
2) i have doubletwist paid version, will this be lost when i root? and what should i do before rooting...
3) Not overly fussed but can i get ICS on this after rooting?
I currently bricked my phone after the "Rooting" procedure failed, I followed the instructions (Ive done rooting before on my S2) but when it was on the process of rooting it failed and now Im getting the error of "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.
Has anyone tried those SD cards with the android "rooting" built in? They sound nice, if you want a "normal" tablet just insert the card and power on, if you want to go back into "nook" mode, just remove the card.
