My Debian kernel is linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64, and the command uname -m returns x86_64. However, apt-get do get i386 packages (those /var/cache/apt/archives/*_i386.deb), but never get amd64 package.
I want to install virtualbox, but neither -i386 nor -amd64 work for me.
I have freshly installed 64 bit Win 7 and 12.04 ubuntu dual boot machine (via a wubi install).
I verified that wubi installed 64-bit ubuntu 12.04 and I specifically downloaded and installed the 64-Bit virtualbox package from the virtualbox website located at

Hello,
Due to a specific bug in modem-manager that I'm stumbling upon I've been encouraged to update the version of MM that I'm running to the one at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/amd64/modemmanager. I've tried downloading the .deb file but Software Centre then tells me that Modem-manager is already up to date.
Can anybody help me to get this new version installed?
Thanks
Trying to install VirtualBox on 12.04 and I get a message saying to insert the following CD to continue:

I have a windows 7 64-bit machine in which I have installed VirtualBox and decided to install BackTrack. The installation finished fine, but when it asked me to "please remove installation media and close the tray (if any) then press ENTER" VirtualBox crashes.
I have tried going through the installation process twice but it has crashed both times.
