Quad core Xolo smartphone this March

Xolo will also launch an Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core processor smartphone by March this year.

Nvidia’s next-generation mobile processor could be a 72-core graphics powerhouse, according to leaded specs reportedly uncovered by Chinese site Chiphell. The specs for the Tegra 4 processor, codenamed Wayne (a designation we’ve heard before), detail a 4-plus-1 battery saving quad-core design like that used in the current Tegra 3 processors.

Nvidia has outed its next-gen Tegra 4 mobile CPU at CES. As expected, the chip packs 72  GPU cores, offering a 6x bump on the Tegra 3′s graphics processing performance — to make the most of higher resolution displays — along with the first quad-core ARM Cortex-A15, to boost web browsing speed by 2.6x and deliver improved app performance.

The Tegra 4 has at its heart 72 custom Nvidia GeForce GPU cores, giving it six-times the graphics processing power of the Tegra 3.

ZTE, whose website proclaims is the world’s 4th largest manufacturer, announced the cheapest quad-core smartphone yet. The ZTE U950 packs a 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM but its most impressive spec is the 999 yuan price (approximately $160 USD). The low-priced Android device comes with a 4.3-inch display and is only 9mm-thick.

Well as many people know it was announced hours ago, the rumoured specs were true. We are seeing a quad core A15 processor and a whopping 72gpu cores.

As anticipated, Nvidia used the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona to confirm its next-generation Tegra SoC (system on chip), which will feature quad cores and support 1440p (2560 x 1440 pixel) resolution.

As is the case with every big Apple announcement, the Cupertino giant made some bold claims in the middle of the presentation for its latest magical device, The new iPad. Specifically Apple was quick to throw up some graphs showing that its new A5x dual-core processor has four times the graphics processing power when compared with Nvidia’s latest and greatest, Tegra 3 quad-core processor.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang confirmed his company is building quad-core Tegra 3 processors for new Nexus tablets or smartphones running the upcoming Android & Ice Cream Sandwich& operating system. Meanwhile, a Tegra 2-based Motorola Droid X2 is coming to Verizon May 26, followed later by a Droid 3 that switches to Texas Instruments' dual-core Cortex-A9 OMAP4430, according to industry reports....
