I searched around everywhere for a root for my xperia neo v running ICS 4.0.4 on 4.1.b.0.43 but, all I could find where techniques that required me to flash 4.0.2.a.0.62 kernel and then root it. Is there any technique that doesn't require this flashing?
I'm not that comfortable with flashing tricks and mortally afraid of bricking my phone.
I am posting it for those of who didn't see my post in the leak thread.
well, yesterday ota for android 4.1.1 for the koran sgs2 a.k.a 'SHW-M250K showed up at sammobile site.
but this ota is useless since its require 4.1.1 in order to use it.

So I downloaded Kies to my laptop on order to see if I could sync my phone to Microsoft Outlook. When I downloaded it and plugged my phone in I was told there was a firmware upgrade. (Unfortunately I don't recall exactly what I was running before but I think it was 2.3.6?) Anyway, I did all the steps and was excited about it until it got to 6% installation.
I was washing my face in the morning and the phone was near the sink. When I was leaving the washroom I tried to grab the phone and it slipped through my hands and went inside the toilet. I grabbed it within 2 seconds and gave it a quick dry with towel and turned off. Took out the battery and spen and put it in a rice.
When cheking for updates my phone show me :"the latest updates were installed". And i can't update via pc kies. Is there any way to let my phone show me updates . Because i don't like to flash with odin ( i am afraid ftom hard bricking my device)

If you dont notice, websites with a lot of white space ( such as my blog :P) are very likely to cause eye strain and headache, especially when you surf the internet at night. The most pleasant theme for the eyes should be like the classroom blackboard, with a dark background and light text.
My phone is a Samsung galaxy note sgh_i717. It's on the rogers network. I successfully installed cwm and tried to install cm10 (for at&t version, but which I read in a forum it's the same phone and roms should work) and I got an error when installing the zip. I ended up giving up on cm10 and tried installing liquid smooth rom and it ended up hard bricking my phone.
