Moments ago we told you all about the Sony Xperia U and Xperia P. These 2 devices are the latest additions to the Xperia NXT series (next generation smartphones from Sony). While the Xperia S is already shipping, we can expect to see the Xperia U and Xperia P sometime in the 2nd quarter of this year.
It seems like that this time Sony is going to beat everyone and bring the latest version of Android on its new Xperia device. It’s recently appeared in the official Sony Xperia blog a screenshot showing the system information of Xperia Z C6603, where you can admire the latest version of Android 4.2.2.
Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Arc is one of the first smartphones to hit Australia this year based on the latest version 2.3 (Gingerbread) of Google’s rapidly developing Android platform, and it launches off the back of interest last year in the company’s Xperia X10 handset.
Yesterday, Sony gave us a closeup of the Xperia Z1 power button, and today they posted another teaser showing the top and part of the right side of the phone along with a splash of water. This obviously means the Xperia Z1 will continue the tradition of the Xperia Z in that it will be splash proof.
As a follow up to last week’s Xperia P Ice Cream Sandwich rollout, Sony Mobile today announced their 2011 Xperia line of phones will be getting new Android 4.0.4 firmware. Starting this week, the first phones to receive the update are the Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia mini, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Xperia ray.
