I started looking more closely at battery stats and GSam Battery Monitor is reporting that my screen is using more battery/power when it is OFF (in standby) than when its ON and I'm actually using the phone. If this is correct then it would explain why I'm getting such bad standby times. Screenshots are attached. Can someone help me confirm if this stat is correct (ie, that GSam's calculation shows low % screen off power usage on a GS2 with goo (HowTos)

My 7.7 LTE dropped to 70% battery after only 5 hours. 45 min screen on time, so it was on standby for 4.25 hours.

The tablet is not awake while in standby, are you also getting these kind of standby times? Seems really bad.

Just wondering if this is a common issue-- it's happened maybe three times total. I hit the button to put the phone in standby-- and then when I hit it again nothing, screen's just black. If I have a new notification, the blue light will still flash so I know it has power. The only thing I could do each time was take out the battery and put it back in.

I am using GSam battery to monitor my battery.

What I notced that even if screen is off for 15minutes, GSam will show it was on for 9minutes When I turn of screen for 10minutes it showed that screen was on for 6.

Anyone knows anything about this?

I updated to the official Jelly Bean build on Three in the Uk yesterday. When I first got my phone on ICS I played around checking wakelocks etc and managed to get everything set up so battery drain in standby was around 0.5 % per hour so 3 or 4% drop over night (if not plugged in of course).

Hi guys,

I charged my phone full last night and unplugged it around 8.30am this morning. As you can see from the attached pics, by 12.30pm my battery had reduced to 22%.

The screen time was around 1 hour 20 minutes at this point with voice calls about 10 minutes.

Hi all, for the last week or so I've been having diabolical battery drain on my phone.

The standby of SGS is great and i love it.. Until i installed GO launcher ex and then its standby is draining battery very fast... Then i returned to original launcher and the problem resolved.. Now i want GO launcher ex but i want it with no battery drainage...WHAT IS THE PROBLEM????

Hi all; I'm a recently converted lifelong iPhone user so please be gentle. I couldn't be happier with my new GS3 but i'm concerned about the battery life. It's nothing like my old iP4.

usage stats: 29% screen 28% android system 15% cell standby rest = various games & apps... no single one more than 9%.

This seems REALLY REALLY poor.

Hi,

i recently changed my battery to the one x+ one and hoped that I got a better battery life with this. It is better indeed but never the less the battery doesn't last a whole day.
