Sony Mobile has confirmed that the Xperia Play’s upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been canceled, leaving the PlayStation-certified smartphone on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
As a follow up to last week’s Xperia P Ice Cream Sandwich rollout, Sony Mobile today announced their 2011 Xperia line of phones will be getting new Android 4.0.4 firmware. Starting this week, the first phones to receive the update are the Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia mini, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Xperia ray.

Here is the newest available version of Opera Mini 6.0.6 for your Xperia X8 smartphone series. This new Opera Mini 6.6.0 brings many fixes and improvements to this release. The installation of Opera Mini 6.6.0 on Xperia X8 is also very easy.
We reported back in March of this year about the revised update schedule for Sony Xperia handsets. In some instances there were some serious delays which probably resulted in some unhappy owners out there.
Hi everybody, i post here working and small ftf file with latest Android 4.0.4 for Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini Pro.
I know, that there are other roms with these version firmware here, but this is O2 CZ customization and it is without any bloatware app, which cannot be removed without root. I used it for some time and it is very fast. You doesnt need unlocked bootloader to install it.

Hello
It seems my carrier have no clue about rolling out an OTA update for the Xperia Mini Pro. Either that or their Tech Support guys have a 'Be deliberately thick' script.
A non-root manual update path is potentially open, retaining some of the Sony-only features.
