I'm a new Lubuntu user (never used any Linux OS before).
File Manager --> Preferences --> Bluetooth Manager
I can't seem to send a file to my smartphone. I click the bluetooth icon on the task bar, a window comes up showing my smartphone.
Clicked "Pair" to pair my laptop and smartphone.
Once paired, the Send File button is activated, meaning I can already send a file.

I am thinking regarding the future options of my app and I am thinking of the idea of backing-up the data from the application's Database and also sharing that data with another phone, say via e-mail, messaging, Bluetooth, you name it, but basically saving it as a file and opening it from the other phone and having the same values on both phones.

What is best CLI tool that I could use to transfer a file over bluetooth?

To transfer a file I have tried ussp-push, obexftp and bluetooth-sendto (from gnome-bluetooth).
My laptop successfully paired with my MT over bluetooth, and I was able to send a file from my phone to my laptop. However, when I go to my laptop and try to scan for services (right clicking phone in device manager -> properties -> services), nothing shows up. Does anyone know why this is?
I also tried connecting it with my brand new laptop, which supports bluetooth as well.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 (dual boot, kept Windows just in case) on my new Acer Aspire One 756-877. As soon as I installed it I also installed the Broadcom driver, since wifi wasn't working, and that solved it right away.
