My nexus s is giving me trouble. While phone is on, keeps waking and sleeping on its own randomly like the power button is being pressed.
If i try to press the power button myself to put it to sleep sometimes it brings up the power off menu instead (as if I've held it), and the rest of the time it does nothing.
My power button is broken but I'm not sure it's the power button because I somewhat opened it there is a stripped screw so the volume side doesn't come off. When i put a battery in it turns on automatically and i even removed the power button from the motherboard little power button & tried pressing that power button
Hey, so my power button has recently become unresponsive. It has gradually gone "into" the phone, causing it harder to press but it has not jammed. Would this be a fixable problem or would I have to take it into a HTC store and have them look at it?
I really want to like the HTC one for its design, screen and sound quality. But I just can't fathom the placement of the power button. It just makes no sense on such a tall phone. HTC is the ONLY manufacturer that places the power button on the top of such large devices.
When my phone's lying flat on a table, it's easier to turn it on by pressing the home button rather than position my hand to squeeze the power button. When I'd switch on my Note 1, S2, and S3 this way, they'd wake up to the last used app screen, which is not necessarily a home screen. The Note 2, however, always returns to the main home screen.
I have a (seemingly rather exotic) Dell Latitude XT2 notebook running Lubuntu 12.04, fresh install.
Tried to get the power button to work as expected (opening lubuntu-logout, just as I think it was meant to be out-of-the box), but no success: power button does nothing but forced power-off on long press.
Here some more information, please ask if something more could help:

my power button broke, and the only way to power it back up is to install the carrier rom via odin, which makes my device outdated and unrooted, Ive downloaded Button remapper so I could switch the power key with something else, but it asks for full root access, is there any way to root my phone via odin, or just without recovery mode?
MY galaxy s2 has problems with powering off every now and then. it was really bad at one point where all it was doing is turning on and rebooting right after. i had a custom rom for months and never had problems until yesterday. i couldnt go on recovery mode because it would always restart every five seconds.
In the for what it is worth department, I have become suspicious of constantly using the power button to wake up my TouchPads. I have switched to using the "home" button for that function and I'll tell you why. Have you ever forgotten whether your TP is turned off or just asleep.
