[Q] Set preferred network

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hi, on Oxygen ICS Rom, my phone showed "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)" as preferred network type under Phone info (dial *#*#4636#*#*). Now on Rasbeanjelly (and on JellyBelly as well), it shows "WCDMA preferred" and cannot be changed (actually I CAN change it, but it reverts to WCDMA when I return to the settings screen). Is this related to the ROM? To the radio? To the kernel? Is it possible to change it permanently? Thanks Julian (HowTos)

So...I'm currently in Egypt and out of the US. I bought a Vodafone SIM card and stuck it in my Rezound. This worked only if I changed the cell radio settings in the *#*#4636#*#* phone info menu to "WCDMA Preferred" or "WCDMA Only". I was able to send and receive calls. Then all of a sudden a few days ago my phone said it had no service. I hadn't changed anything.

I want to change the preferred network type from the current setting of 'unknown'. I go into the tablet using the *#....access and it lets me see all the various info sections.

Hey guys I am running on the 4.2.2 Liquidsmooth 2.1 rom and it seems I can't send MMS. I have my network Mode to LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA. Why cant I send pictures please help! Thank You!

First - I'm not noob, but not a developer either. I'm about to sell my Rezound which has only seen about two months real use. I am now on AT&T with a One X (yes I love HTC). Anyway, I recently flashed one of the GSM roms in hopes that I'd be able to use the Rezound as one of my AT&T phones. I then found out that you only get AT&T's Edge - no 3G, 4G, LTE, etc.

Hope someone can help resolve my situation.

I am in Korea, and have verizion Inc 2 with SK Telecom usim(GSM).

sim code unlock, flash CM7, chagne my preferred network type by GSM, change APN from Verizon to SKT and type like this on adb

Hi, how to set my galaxy s2 permanently in WCDMA only Mode, not in WCDMA prefereed. In menu option is missing. I change WCDMA only whith *#*#4636#*#* , but to close security menu galaxy S2 auto change mode to WCDMA prefereed :crying: how to fix it?

Hi,

While exploring the 4636 menu I think I may have inadvertently changed the "Set preferred network type" setting. I am in the UK and with Vodafone (if that makes any difference) so could someone with an HTC One on that network please tell me what it says for that setting?

I bougth an Note5 F6, it´s a dual sim phone with 6" screen and Android ICS. In "Enginner Mode" and next BandMode option appears UMTS Mode, WCDMA-IMT-2000, WCDMA-PCS-1900. Does it means that phone works on this frecuencies? If so...why doesn´t phone detect any network? My my last phone does, but when i set sim card on Note5 not.

I noticed that by default this phone is setup to use "Global" as the preferred network mode. I'm thinking that means it'll try to use CDMA, LTE, and GSM networks.
