So i'm VERY new to Android software (i'm used to apple's ios) but i just got a Galaxy s3 and it really is amazing. But the problem is that i don't know what a lot of these things are. Like NFC, Android Beam, S Beam, Wi-Fi Direct mostly. I've seen them in the settings but I don't know what they are. Is Android Beam/S beam the same thing? How about NFC? and what's Wi-Fi direct? Thank you!
I have 2 Galaxy Notes, i717 running ICS. How does one get android beam to work? I've enabled NFC on both phones and it tells me android beam is ready. So I back-to-back the phones and they both vibrate and make a noise. An "N" appears in the notification bar.
Now what? If I go into anything; picture viewer, music player, file browser...
Hi guys:). I was planning to buy a samsung galaxy beam next week. i have a question to ask, does the galaxy beam make calls?
im afraid it is like the galaxy S that you cannot call :(
I am trying to grep the ongoing tail of file log and get the nth word from a line.
I have Twonky Beam installed on my samsung tablet and can beam to my LG smart TV, no problem.
I have an old plasma TV with an Android TV Box box attached. Is the an app that I can run on the android device so that TB will beam to the Android device?
I honestly think this is a great feature on the stock ROM. I could send app apk's to a buddy of mine and everything. Even HD movies.
So I'm only left to wonder, is this a feature of S Beam? Even though I didn't touch the phones, we just paired via WiFi Direct.
However he does have a S3 as well.

Remember the Samsung Galaxy Beam? With all the excitement of the HTC One series and the GS III, this media projector/smartphone hybrid is practically a distant memory these days.
I rooted my Samsung galaxy s3 and installed version 4.2 with gapps and when I go to my settings and hit more, I don't see s beam. Can anyone help me please?
For all of you in the UK who were interested in Samsung‘s lumen projector smarphone combo, the Galaxy Beam is now in stock on Expansys website for £394.99. Just to recap, the G Beam will boast a 15 lumens pico projector, practically allowing users to walk around with a 50-inch screen TV in their pocket, or so Samsung says.
