[Q] S3 lack of internal memory : will Play Store solve that ?

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hello all, I just received my 16Go S3 a few weeks ago, and I was very disapointed to see that we only have 11Go of free space, which is very small and even more for a 500€ device... I feel like Samsung just stole one third of my internal memory ... I always had 32Go devices, and I feel really bad only having now this small space to install apps ... I know there are work around solutions which will move apps from intermal memory to the SD card, but it does not work for all apps. There's also a way to patch custom ROMs so that the external memory becomes the internal, but I want to keep th (HowTos)

I have an LG -E405 phone running Android 2.3.6.

As can be seen here, the phone has 1GB internal memory and 384Mb RAM.

When I look at default App manager, this is what I get,

RAM - 231Mb System Memory - 157 Mb. Internal Memory - 378Mb. SD Card - 2Gb.

Also, all the applications I install, by default take up space from System memory.

Slighly confused by the internal memory on the S2.

I thought it had around 16GB of internal memory but when I checked...setting/storage/ it shows internal memory as Total Space =1.97Gb Apps 238MB Available as 1.70GB

So this adds up to only around 3.9GB ????

Any ideas where the rest is.....

I'm selling my Amaze, keeping external memory. Where is the location for custom recovery - is it on internal or external card? I want to wipe the internal memory, keeping temp external card, reboot into recover and install custom rom from external memory, then reboot and remove internal memory. Will the above procedure work ?

Hi, I have a weird problem with my S2 running samsung stock ICS 4.0.3. i have been using sgs2 for over a year now and whenever my free internal storage goes below 2.5GB i move the apps to SD card. But now No. of apps in SDcard has hit the Android limit so i simply delete the Apps. But off late that is not freeing up my internal memory.

Short story from last couple months. Gmail never updated. Sort of liked that. Then it was impacting work. Figured out it's an internal memory issue. I have had to remove any extraneous apps, widgets, etc. Still with memory problems... Most Google apps eat up a ton of memory. I moved everything possible to the SD card. Drive, Twitter, Music all eat up memory.

I have had my Commando rooted since new (M080) and use Titanium Pro for managing the apps, but for some reason, even with as many apps moved to the SD card as possible, I still have a memory issue on the phone.

Hello guyz,

I have a "rooted" micromax A44, an mtk based phone loaded with gb. Yes, It hs very low internal memory (a mere 170mb dedicated for user apps nd its data). There are no roms nor a recovery available. So im at my wits end. I tried these to overcome the problem.

1. changed internal apps (system) into user ones using Titanium Backup and moved them to sd card.
