Hi I'm new to this forum and new to the nook world. My parents recently bought my son a nook hd for Xmas and he really likes it but as I help him go thru it we see there isn't a whole lot you can do with it and there doesn't seem to be many apps that he can use.
Is there a way to set my nook to stay at 180 rotation?
In other words, I would like it to think that the N button is on the top of my nook instead of the botton.
The reason for this is so I can have my nook charging while in the stand I have for it.
Most of my apps work with auto-rotation, but enough don't to be annoying.
Here's the situation
I bought a rooted nook color ( bnrv200) which has a version of CM7 on it already.
I want to erase the current version and load a completely fresh install myself ( my first time by the way.)

I've rooted my nook simple touch but am unable to install any apps. I get messages that for security reasons I am blocked from adding any apps that aren't from the android store. There is also a message in settings that to install apps I need to place the app in the /system/apps directory. OK, but I cannot get to /system/apps.
Hello xda experts!!!!! I really need some help!!! The thing is like this : I have installed cm10 alpha 1 for nook on sd card!!! While i was installing it my nook color was also connected to the computer. So in WinImage i accidently chose the 1 gb of nook color instead of the 32 gb sandisk class 10 which i had inserted in pc via card reader.

My Nook Color had been running an ancient version of CM9, but was acting all laggy and locked up more often than not. I blew that away and installed Parandroid. Seems to run much better.
However, I'm having issues with the Amazon Appstore.
I installed it. However, there is no soft menu button available to select which will bring up things like My apps, so I can reinstall them.
I have registered my Nook Color by using serial number of the device on nook developer site. I'm able to view the extras tab but the issue is that it doesn't show the NookColor Tools option. (Kindly refer the attached screenshot).
What i did next is to mail a copy of application's apk file on my email address and opened the mail from device's browser.
I haven't had this nook color for more than 24 hours and it is already frustrating me to the point where i am tempted to take it back, pay 70 bucks more for an android tablet and call it a day.....
I am trying to do everything in this video and i follow all the directions and everytime i try to boot into recovery my nook doesn't boot in recovery....it just goes right into the nook interface.
