Just received my first droid phone the other day. I reset to factory, then downloaded all of the updates from Verizon. I later read that you shouldn't root the phone if you've done all of the updates through Verizon because it'll brick the phone.
I'm new to the lingo and using ROMS. I want to use this phone to learn though.
Ok, here's my quandry: My mom has on Verizon a crappy slider type phone, which she's not big on, but has no interest in full on smartphones, plus, I need to use her upgrade later this year so I can get a new phone without losing my unlimited data via the "dumbphone to smartphone then switch the smartphone to the unlimited data line" trick.
I've spent the whole night trying to figure this out so hopefully the information is useful for some of of you
The usual scenario is that the phone is encrypted due to using Exchange email (eg. Corporate email) and now you can't upgrade or root it.
Thanks to everyone who have worked so hard putting together the phone rooting systems. I have a question that I hope can be answered by one of you. I just recently bought a Droid Razr HD (Verizon). This phone is running Jelly Bean out of the box, so the root method for ICS to JB probably won't work? Is there any new direct safe method available for this phone that I haven't run across?
I have an original HTC Incredible and one thing I don't like is that when the phone rings and the phone is in my front pocket or otherwise concealed, walking or in the car, I often disengage the call accidentally by unintentionally swiping the phone before getting it out.
I'm looking at the the HTC One X, Sam 3 or waiting on the Razr HD when it is released.
Verizon Wireless will begin selling a 4G LTE-ready 4.3-inch & Droid Charge by Samsung& Android phone on April 28 for a whopping $300 plus contract. Meanwhile, Verizon says the 4G- and Android-ready HTC Thunderbolt has been a hot seller, and Motorola has confifmed that the Verizon launch of its Droid Bionic phone will be delayed until summer....
I recently got the s3 for Verizon, it's the first non-work phone I've bought in 15 years and boy howdy are things different than they were for my old sprint phone.
I have a Verizon S III (Stock, Rooted). I was travelling internationally with it and was using it on GSM (using HiAPN app). It was working fine and then Com.Android.Phone failed msg popped up. I lost outgoing calls due to that. I tried various things and ended up doing factory reset. Now when the phone powers up it tries to activate and fails as I still get the com, android,,phone failed error.
It's Your Phone You Should Have The Right?
I heard someone over in Facebook, which I am trying to look there site page is taking petitions and donations to fight phone companies or the phone makers so we as consumers can buy what ever phone we desire and be able to use it on any service, I'm in on that one I feel we should be able to buy what phone we would like and use it on any service anyone a
