Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I last posted here, and right now, I wanted to ask for your sound opinion guys. Please. :) I own a Nexus 7 and I am having a hard time deciding which keyboard to buy. I would really appreciate any comments or suggestions I could get. Can I create a new keyboard layout or add Unicode characters to my current keyboard layout in Ubuntu? I have found something called KMFL (Keyboard Mapping for Linux), however, I could not install it because I could not find the package ibus-kmfl.
Is there maybe an easier way create a new keyboard layout? Something as easy as the the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator?
I just switched to Fedora and it appears I haven't been able to escape an issue my presious install had.
After using my builtin keyboard (on a laptop) for some time the keyboard will suddently become seemingly unresponsive. I've discovered what's happening is that X is just taking a long time to register the keys (though they repeat at the normal rate).

My laptop has an Italian keyboard layout, but after moving to the US I'm using it with a US keyboard attached via USB when at work.
When on the go I'm on the IT keyboard and constantly switching layout for every open program with left-alt+right-shift is becoming a real pain.
Anyone knows of a tool that automatically changes the keyboard layout based on the physical keyboard being used?
