Ive rooted a few phones and tablets before and have never bricked a device (got close) until now. This kindle fire i believe is truly hard bricked. What happened was, I rooted it with the kindle fire utility, and when it rebooted it was stuck on the kindle fire logo screen. I let it run flat over night, and the next day it was still stuck.
Back story: I purchased a used Kindle Fire on Ebay about a week ago, not knowing that it had been rooted. I was looking for a standard Kindle fire for my son so he would stop using my tablet (lol) and the parental controls are better and more books and so on... none the less when I got it I noticed that it booted differently (I had a kindle fire prior) and it booted into Android.
As the description by Amazon, the model is KFTT for Kindle Fire 7 HD.

The Kindle Fire 2 is now a part of the 7" Kindle Fire HD forum.
In terms of software, the Kindle Fire 2 is much closer to the 7" Kindle Fire HD than the original Kindle Fire. The two are similarly equipped with locked bootloaders, run ICS and share the same rooting method. Consequently, the KF2 has now been made a part of this 7" KF HD forum.
Hello, i need help with my kindle fire. before i bricked it, i already had rooted my kindle and was using the SmoothROM with TWRP 2.2.2.1 and FFFF ver. 1.4a. I wanted to install Ubuntu on my Kindle but because I needed 5 GB of memory to install it i wanted to factory reset but the amount of memory (4 GB) was still the same with the same downloaded apps and files i had before were still there.
I've attempted to root my kindle fire with the kindle fire utility and it wasn't 100% successful.
Im stuck on the kindle fire screen where it's booting up and it's on an endless cycle whether
plugged into the computer, or charging through the outlet. It's also completely unrecognized
when I do plug it into my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated to unbrick it.
I got this kindle fire that I am trying to fix for my kid. I don't know what firmware was in. The KF has never been rooted. We tried to call Amazon for a replacement, but since I didn't remember which email account was tied to this KF and I couldn't find the Serial Number either, I got stuck with it.
To begin, I have read both Is there a way to get a Kindle Fire to work with 12.04? and How can I transfer files to a Kindle Fire with a Micro-USB cable?
My problem is that I am unable to mount my Kindle Fire in order to add books to it.
