The guide on XMD has me confused. All I (ever) want is to run root-only apps off of Google Play. No custom ROMs, or anything like that.
So here's where I am currently, I have completed step 4:
""1. Start ODIN
2. Put phone into download mode
3.
ok so i installed the asus 4.2 no problem. bootloader is unlocked. i then flashed twrp 4.2, then realized i needed to do push 4.4 twrp instead. so i did that. i was able to boot to the asus rom no problem. i then rebooted into twrp, and it starts asking me for a password, all i could do was hit cancel. Nothing will mount, no sdcards no external, no internal memory.
Here's a hypothetical situation that I'm trying to figure out:
Step 1: Buy a new phone, unlock the bootloader, root it, and put a custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) on it.
Step 2: Make a full backup (presumably saved in TWRP or CWM folder on SD)
Step 3: Revert back to stock and unroot the device.
Step 4: Re-root the device and reinstall a custom recovery.
After step 4, would that origina
Hey guys i have a huge problem. I have a Rogers HTC One X that is rooted. I installed cm10 and I didn't like it so I booted into twrp recovery and wiped EVERYTHING, I wasn't thinking. so there is no ROM on the phone. I have the stock ROM but I couldn't get it onto the phone because twrp wouldn't let me mount my SD.
I did a quick search in the forums and couldn't find an answer. Was wondering if anybody has had issues with making a nandroid backup with TWRP? The error I'm getting is that the data partition cannot be mounted. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Some more info: I rooted and installed twrp via the note 2 toolkit v2.0 (twrp-2.3.1.1-SPHL900)
Good Morning,
After searching all of 100 pages in the post for the Hydro rom I have a question that I didnt find in the thread.Im on latest JB/OTA update for my TF300t and I have flashed the CWM recovery after unlocking my bootloader. Now,I want to install the latest Hydro rom but the developer is suggesting the latest TWRP for the rom.
My question is,will i be able to flash the rom using CWM
I am rooted, and unlocked, but when I use EZ-Recovery to flash the TWRP recovery image, it only stays until the phone is rebooted. Is this how it is supposed to work?
Basically if I open EZ-Recovery and flash TWRP then reboot to recovery its fine. After I reboot FROM TWRP back into Android, the recovery is back to stock.
I tried again to put on another rom, and it didn't work. I read the forums at XDA and downloaded I think CleanRom 5.1 . I followed all the directions to the T. I hooked the phone to the computer USB , put the zip on the phone in a folder on the storage from the Desktop. Ran TWRP, wiped system ETC.
need some help please. just did something pretty dumb in a moment of not thinking. i went into rom manager and flashed cwm recovery (I'm using Hairy Bean 1.51 with TWRP) over the damn TWRP recovery, then did a system backup through rom manager.
