[Q] Installing Custom ROM on Unlocked + Rooted + S-ON Desire S

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hi I have HTC Desire S. After OTA Upgrade HBOOT 2.00.2000 . So revolutionary method did not work. Unlocked using HTCDev.com Used AndroidFlasher with CWM Recovery and rooted my device. Can i simply install another custom ROM? If no, How do i get S-OFF now? Or I will have to revert back to Stock ROM and root via another method now? Device details in my signature. (HowTos)

Background: I am still on ICS 4.0.4 rooted and unlocked (atleast ez unlock says im unlocked and i have superuser and voodoo says im still rooted) .

However, when I try to flash a custom recovery , ROM manager gets stuck at 100 % and closes. I have also tried installing a custom recovery via EZ recovery, and it says its flashed.

Brief description of the problem: Somehow got a USB-brick (phone as a USB-device not recognized in the BB, go into HBOOT USB mode or FASTBOOT USB does not work)

Device / model: HTC Desire HD

Operating System and Firmware: Android ICS Sabsa Prime 7 (custom roooted, unlocked through htcdev.com)

What was done: Tried to go the way of brick recovery through 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0'

Hey guys,

I got a problem, that I can't root my Desire again, and I don't know why.

My Desire was once rooted, but I unrooted after installing the original RUU 2.2. version of android, After that, I installed 2,3,3 version, but I can't boot it. It shows me some black screen on boot. I updated to HBOOT 1.0.3.003 with the official ruu upgrades.

So here's the deal modders and forum members....

Tried a couple of custom kernels to get my Sola rooted but every kernel had some or the other issue..

So here's what I did to keep the root and to solve the issues...

1) Fastbooted with custom kernel to get rooted 2) Flashed with stock firmware. Tft file (only ticked kernel nothing else) so that's the stock kernel of my firmware.

i have a wildifre s Rooted, bootloader unlocked and S-ON. i tried to install many ROMS but none ther than EQDKP sense 3.5 and wildchild ROMS worked for me.

Hello, I am new to the rom and root thingy, but I managed to get my desire rooted with Unr3voked. That was running fine and with no problems. A few months ago I wanted a custom ICS rom, so I found one (Sandvolds one). I searched around the internet because I didn't know how to do it ;). I discovered I needed to have S-OFF but I hadn't.

ive just unlocked the bootloader for my xoom 4g (stingray) and went to install a custom recovery and it flashes fight in fastboot then when i reboot into recovey it shows the green android logo laying down then shows the red ! . i have to hold the power and the up volume key to show stock recovery.

why is the custom recovery not sticking. is it because im not rooted?

Hi, I tried to install via RUU the new ICS ugrade released yesterday.

My Desire S is:

Unlocked bootloader S-ON hboot 2.00.0002 radio 3822.10.08.04_m Recovery 4EXT touch v.1.0.0.5 RC5 Device Rooted ROM Stock (Gingerbread)

The installation of the new ICS via RUU fails with error 155. After removing battery and reboot all my data are still there, nothing has been removed.
