[Q] Imported Sim contacts all spread out

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Well, i bit the bullet and purchased a Galaxy Nexus to upgrade from my Touch Pro 2. Problem is im having a hell of a time importing my contacts from the old phone to the new. I got them on the Sim ok, and they Show up on android, problem is it split all of the numbers so i have 2, 3 or 4 of the same contact. It splits Home, Mobile, and Work numbers into individual contacts instead of merging them like they should be. You would think it would be smart enough to see the same name and think "oh, these are all the same person." is there any way to merge them without having to manua (HowTos)

Forgive me as I'm fairly new to android after having a nokia for many many years.

My phone recently upgraded to version 4.1.1 with no problems.

However... in regards to my contacts... it merged all my sim contacts with my phone contacts... which I'm quite happy with by the way.

My question is tho... I have made changes or added new numbers to my phone contacts since the upgrade...

I've seen a lot of threads related to this issue ... but I've yet to find a solution. I have a 2008 BMW 335i and I'm connecting my Galaxy Nexus (Android version 4.0.4). I use GMail for contacts (and mail) and sync (via IMAP) with Outlook (on a PC), and iPad, and the Galaxy Nexus.

I've had my Galaxy S3 for about 9 months, and 2 weeks ago started having this problem (I don't recall changing any settings etc that coincide with this timing).

Two contacts have numbers which are only one digit different (ie, 04AXXXXXXX and 04BXXXXXXX).

Hi All, I have just started using a Nexus S (Android 2.3) and have a problem adding contacts.

The manual states that to add a contact you have to "open 'Contacts', press 'Menu' and then touch 'New Contact'. Sounds straightforward but there is no 'New Contact'.

I recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S2 to ICS. I use google contacts to manage my phone numbers and I have my contacts set to only display contacts with phone numbers when I view my contacts.

However, why I start a search on my contacts it searches everything on my phone. It searched my sim, all email addresses, everything.

Hey Guys, I got all my facebook contacts numbers synced and it comes in contacts but its not coming as phone contacts. Only when it comes as phone contacts i can use them in other apps like Viber and Whatsapp. Its not practically possible add and each very number manually (1800 friends :O). Is there any way to copy facebook numbers to phone contacts or likewise?

I have 4.1.1-based ROM and using the default people app to view contacts.
