I simply get no option for offline in Settings->Input&Languages->Voice Recognition//settings-symbol-of-google-voice-> ... the list of options ends after "hotword detection"
The "OK Google" hotword detection was working fine (in both the GEL and the Google Search app if I accessed it via the app icon) before I updated, but now the ability seems to be lost no matter what I do.
Android Jellybean has Offline Voice Recognition. I think the Jellybean has inbiult recogniser software ( which was with Google servers, till ICS, which needed internet connection ). Also language recogniser for other languages are available to download, just like TTS service.
I never used Voice Recognition on android coz it used data. I will definately buy WP as my next smartphone.
I was checking out the Google voice commands. It works great. But offline commands are not working. As soon as I open the voice search/Google Now offline it gives error saying not connected. I tried downloading offline language and installed the same. But still not working. Anything else am missing here?
Hello, I've just got a new Samsung Galaxy S3 mini and am quite happy with it. After playing around a bit, I found an option to download google voice recognition (or similar, my phone menu is being displayed in German) for offline use, where I can download a file for each language I need.
Motorola’s always-on speech recognition with its “Okay, Google” hotword was a killer feature for the device, so it was kind of surprising when it wasn’t available on the Nexus 5. Sure, you can still open Google Now and perform tasks and searches by voice after that point, but with the Moto X, that voice command is always available.
I am interested in seeing if offline voice recognition is possible using the Google TTS on Android and have tried to make that work and not succeeded. I am working on an Android app that requires a user to speak a 'magic word' into the phone and the phone responds when it hears the right word.
