[Q] Help rooting a Chinese Android tablet.

http://forum.xda-developers.com – I bought an Onda V701 tablet a few weeks back and it just showed up. Anybody know where to look to start rooting it? I've never rooted anything before, but I got this specifically to mess around with it. Was going to post a link but as a noob it won't let me... so I'll just post the specs here instead. Purchased an Onda Vi30 Tablet direct from Onda:(

I did placed the order on the 28 June 2012 I received the tablet on the 16 July :p but after a few days to turn it on I have have to reset it:( I emailed them reported my concerns and was asked to send the tablet back, which I did on the 10 August. I have been using an Onda V711 Tablet for a couple weeks now and have been working on fine tuning it to work properly.

I wanted to post a few modifications that I have done in order to get all of the bugs worked out.

1) Keyboard shows ALL english words as misspelled. -- Fix is to replace LatinIME.apk and add Latin imeDictionarypack.apk with an english version.

I hope someone can help I think I may have bricked my onda vi40 ultimate tablet I was running ics 4.04 latest update from onda

I did try to flash CyanogenMod 9 and I managed to get it installed however now my tablet is dead (i wont power up the screens black)

I think it’s in recovery mode as ive tried to re-flash with live suit back to ver 4.04 however it gets stuck on 3% and wont

Hi,

I bought this tablet on-line locally while in China on business last week. Overall really pleased with it but some problems which make me think it might be locked down for use in China. Tempted to install a vanilla version of Ice Cream Sandwich over the top but surely that's too easy (and I don't know how to do it!) ?
