Google’s new Voice Search and Google Now has gone through numerous tests by various users ever since Google announced them. Thus far, no one has given Google Voice Search such a long and informative test like this YouTube user by the name of JLishere on his Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Just ran the updated to the latest version of Android. I was quite looking forward to playing around with the new Google search voice functionality. I have no problem getting it to recognize my voice and perform commands however the app doesn't talk to me. It always displays the information on my screen.
Google first announced its plans to bring enhanced voice search to iOS back in August, and now the company has finally made good on its word.
Hi,
My first post here, I'm very new to Android so I'm hoping I'm just doing something foolish.
Google Voice search used to work fine, but it has suddenly stopped working, and all I get is "Can't reach Google at the moment".
I speak, it says "recognising" and then it fails without converting any of my speech.
More good news for owners of Galaxy Nexus smartphones. Those who purchased their devices through the Google Play store or who have flashed the “takju” version of the firmware onto their device should be receiving an over-the-air (OTA) update to bring their device up to Android version 4.1.2.
The latest Google phone, LG’s Nexus 4, is as good as it gets in the land of Android (or “Landroid,” if you will).
Google will be delivering Android 4.2 updates to owners of its Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy 7 devices over-the-air, and likely very soon, but if you’re just not able to wait, there’s a way to update manually right now using firmware downloads found on Google’s servers.
Okay, so using my dad's tab 10.1 2 today, I noticed it can no longer search anything but the web with the Google quick search bar! Looking on the market, I see that the app no longer shows up. I know Google had to change some stuff concerning this for the galaxy nexus, since apple sued Samsung over it, but did the galaxy tab also get a "fix"?
1. Is there a rom or even a kernel that can fully customize the touch-led buttons below the nexus s? For example, instead of the google search button functioning as google search, it will open the messaging app. The google search is very redundant on this device.
2. I've tried more than 10 kernels for stock 4.1.2 and nothing works perfectly.
