So back on my Evo 4G whenever I wanted to flash a new rom, I would load it on my SD card. Then boot into custom recovery and wipe cache/Dalvik... Then would wipe ALL data/factory reset. Then I would install my new rom off of my SD card.
With my S3, I cannot access anything on my SD via CWM recovery.
I waited 2 nights to register so I could wade through fixes and tips and have seem to come up with little to nothing. I have CWM flashed on my phone through ROM Manager with the recovery file replaced in the system/bin and the update zip in the root of the SD card.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to remove some of my old excess folders off my SD Card and I was wondering if anyone knew what the stock folders are I should be keeping or if it's ok to wipe the SD card? Wasn't really sure if it was ok or not to do so and thought I should ask..
Thanks!
Hi I want to try out ICS on my HTC Desire. If it ends up being unstable im going to want to flash it back to CM7 (gingerbread), but is it safe to do so. Are there any extra steps i need to do other than wipe the cache partition and wipe data/factory reset, then install zip from sd card.
Hi! I need to sell my Galaxy Exhibit 4G, so I want to do a factory data reset to wipe it clean. I rooted it about 6 months ago, but I have stayed on stock and just frozen and deleted some of the bloatware apps. Can I just do a regular factory data reset? I am concerned because of rumors that it might brick your phone?
Just wanted some advice on formating my card to FAT32. My card is 32gb, about 22gb is being used. To format my card (which I assume will wipe it clean), what's the best way (and quickest) to transfer all of its current data to another location before formatting? And what do you recommend using (application) to format it?
Well, I stock rooted yesterday, and all went well, except for my sd card.
I did the "wipe" stock rooted and removed my sd card before doing so, so that I would lose the items on the sd card. But a couple folders are missing/hiding or I can't see them.
I'm missing the Camerazoom folder that had all my images in it, as well as all the music that I've had on my sd card.
do not boot into the stock recovery...it'll wipe your phone back to factory...you'll still have root...but it'll wipe everything else off :(
but yay! i booted into the stock recovery?....
i used rom toolbox and did the "reboot into recovery" option...just to see what would happen...and this blows...
Hey guys I flashed Android 4.2.2 CM 10.1 M2 Rom on my Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 3113 today and I didn't clear dalvik cache before I flashed. Is that a bad thing? And can I flash over the rom again or do I have to go back to stock first?
