[Q] Error Restoring Nandroid

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Ok so I am currently running the newest version of MIUI. I just got it a few hours ago and I want to go back to my old ROM (codename android) to back up all of my apps to titanium backup. I make 2 nandroid backups before I installed MIUI. Every time I go into clockworkmod and try to restore one of the backups. I get an error saying "error while restoring /system." Is there anything that I am doing wrong? I tried wiping data/cache/dalvik and then installing the ROM, but I get an error saying "some symlinks failed." Any help with this? I need all of my apps back. (HowTos)

So i exchanged my phone out today but I kept a backup of the nandroid backup on my computer. After placing it back on the phone it says "error restoring /system", then stops. I have two other older images and they both say "error restoring /data" and stop. Anyone know how I can fix this?

I am wiping data/cache/dalvik before performing this

Hello, I have problems restoring from nandroid backup. Here what I did"

1) Flashed ROM1 and Flashed Kernel1. 2) Installed all My apps which I use. 3) Took Nandroid back-up. 4) Flashed ROM2. Flashed Kernel1. 5) Installed all apps. 6) After 1 days reflashed ROM1 and Kernel1. 7) Tried restoring Nandroid back-up I created 1 day back. AND IT FAILS!!

I'm using Clockworkmod. None of my 4 backups are restoring. Whenever I try to restore, I get an "error restoring /system." OK, so I just need to install the ROM I'm trying to restore to and do an advanced restore of my data, right? Wrong. I try that; "error restoring /data."

What the hell is wrong?

Hi guys...I am actually a first time ROM flasher, and I decided to revert back to my stock Acer ROM because I had some problems. But these problems persist, and in fact become even more. They are as follows:

1) It says "systemupdater failed" everytime I boot up the tablet from cold. This message appears 2/3 times.

I've already successfully rooted and installed CWM touch.

I have also spend hours and hours reading the forums before actually attempting to flash my first ROM. To which the process seems straight forward.

But after all I have read, I still have some questions and need some clarifications on few things.

If you are on any ROM how to migrate to MIUI !! Follow the steps below!! 1) Make sure that you are ready to leave the current rom !! 2)download MIUI ROM , (you can find in this thread) 3)Copy it to your SD card 4)reboot and enter CWM Recovery 5)(optional)clean dalvik cache and wipe cache and make a nandriod backup (this reduces backup size and time ) 6)go to mount and format /system 7)flash the M

Hey guys Having a few problems when i restore app data after a ROM flash with Titanium. I've searched around, but can't find anything that works for me :(

Basically, i'm trying to flash PACMan v21 to my GS2, from rooted (dorimanx kernel) stock 4.2.1 touchwiz rom.

I have a few question regarding nandroid backup and titanium backup.

1. If I do nandroid backup of original ROM and then I flash to another ROM, what happens if I directly do restore from the backup from another ROM?

2. What is the difference between nandroid backup and titanium backup? As far as I'm concerned, titanium backup only backup the apps + data. How about nandroid backup?
