I'm new in the Android phones and these days I'm going to buy Sony U so I wanted to ask you few questions...
Why do you root your phones? What is it that you acctually get when you root phone? Does the phone work faster?
Is it possible to root Sony U to Android 4.1?
What version of Android is faster 2.3 or 4.0.

I know that this seems very early but most of the tech sites say that google will release an incremental update this week, 4.3. I know that samsung keeps updating its phones regularly but it takes them a while to do so. Based on your experience with previous samsung flagship phones, do you guys think that it will take them months to release the update?
Samsung posted an update on its official Facebook page for the Galaxy Note 2 today stating that the Note 2 as well as the Galaxy S3 smartphones will be receiving an update to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 by the end of May.
There was no mention of which versions of the phones will be getting the update first, but its safe to assume that global versions will get the update first, and after that, an carrier

I'm new here & apologize for posting a question that I'm sure you've seen numerous times but I need some help. I'm attempting to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy epic 4g touch using Kies. I keep receiving the infinite update loop. After a couple of hours reading on different forums I decided to come here. I'm on a Mac 10.5.8 if that has anything to do with the problem.
