[Q] Decompiling JB Rosie

http://forum.xda-developers.com – So I asked this question a long while ago, never got an answer, so I am trying again. I am interested in creating a 4x5 Rosie for JB Sense with mikeyxda's tut. I had done so previously for ICS Rosie, but can't seem to get anything going with JB Rosie. I get stuck at the very first step - decompiling Rosie.apk 1) I installed the framework from com.htc.resources.apk, framework-htc-res.apk, and framework-res.apk 2) Decompiled Rosie.apk 3) Without doing anything I attempt to recompile Rosie.apk When I compare the original (step #2) to the recompiled one (step #3) I see a huge size misma (HowTos)

I am trying to decompile and recompile Rosie, but I can not figure out why the new Rosie keeps force closing. Even if I don’t make any changes, it will still force close.

I am using ApkTool 1.4.9. I do not get any errors when decompiling or recompiling.

When I decompile, I choose option 10 in Apk Manager to decompile with dependencies (using com.htc.resources.apk).

This is my second Android app. I develop this little app because I prefer 3rd party launcher (e.g. Apex) than existing Sense 4 Rosie. Existing hacked Sense 4 Rosie (full version) currently doesn't support non Sense widget correctly and is less feature-rich than many other launchers.

Even if you install a 3rd party launcher, Rosie still consume your precious memory as a system service.

Does anyone know if it's possible to add the persistent Google Search bar to the top of every screen in the Rosie launcher? I like this feature from AOSP based ROMs as well as 3rd party launchers, as it doesn't take up screen real estate for widgets/apps.

Based on Cyense Theme for DEODEXED Sense 2.1 ROM

Tested with :

DSCPLX1 v1.1 ROM ( Deodexed ROM Based on Marvel S HTC Europe 2.26.401.3 )

Install with ROM Manager or into CWM Recovery.
