noob here.. I have a few rooted phones and I have a spare HTC EVO 4G. Spare as in not on a network, just wifi, its just a house phone on Google Voice. I'm looking for a ROM I can flash it with that I can still use titanium backup, Link2SD, still has GPS, wifi, camera functions but I don't care about 4G anything. No 3g, 4g, 4g wimax, 4g lte and whatever else they have... just wifi access.

So i just decided to root my phone for the free wifi tethering to my laptop...I havent installed any custom rom just stock rooted with S-On(dont know if that matters).Ive used the Wifi tether app from the google market it connects but it takes me to the t mobile website asking me to add wifi tethering to my plan.
I am new to Linux, I upgraded with from 11.10 to 12.04 and now my wifi doesn't work. When the wifi switch is turned on, the bluetooth works but not the wifi. I have a Dell XPS 15 L502x

Ok, my tab (7510, wifi only, US) is rooted and working great.
There's a file that needs to be edited to enable the 5Ghz wifi band. I did that.
So, what are some recommended apps for a rooted tab that make this already terrific device even better?
I'm running stock ICS, with the Nova launcher. The tab runs like a rocket, and everything just works with no
problems.
I rooted my htc one v as per xda noob friendly guide...all procedure went good..
I just ROOTED....NO custom rom....
but my wifi is not working after rooting....
it stucks on Turning On and then nothing happens...
Any solutions???
p:s, im trying to get ORBOT working on it...and for torifying every app i have to root my device...so im asking that if im unable to root then are there any ot

I've got a really pesky problem when attempting to run ICS on my XE. I S-OFF'ed using revolutionary's method, installed 4ext recovery and rooted my stock Gingerbread release. So far so good...
Quick question, is it safe to Reflash the cf root kernel again even though I'm rooted, as I have a feeling it may be the cause of the following issue:
Ever since I've rooted, my wifi has been really unstable with holding the connection, and frequently reconnects, even tried the 0011 power save off trick and wifi sleep set to never etc.
Think this may be the issue?
I have had my phone about a year now and I had it rooted, S-OFFed and running a custom ROM within an hour of getting it. It took me a while to notice since I never use WiFi but I have had several ROMs such as CM, ViperS, HyperMIUI, Elegancia and the only issue I have had is that no matter what I could never get WiFi to work for more than an hour.
so i have a prevail, long story short, it was rooted, now its timie to sell it, so i unrooted it, but had to reflash a rooted boost image, DONE...
But its on FROYO still...
but the service was turned off.
I want to UPDATE it to latest info.
So is it possible over WiFi?
or Manual download of the files, then run from SD card
