Six months after its initial launch, the preview of Outlook.com, Microsoft’s free webmail service that is meant to replace the aging Hotmail brand and design, now has over 60 million active users according to the company’s own data.
As we reported last month, Microsoft decided to start migrating its old-school Hotmail users over to its shiny new Outlook service. That migration process might not be going so well, as users have flooded sites like Twitter with reports of downtime to the tune of three hours.
With Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector and iTunes 10 installed, you may not be able to sync contacts, calendars, or notes. You may see an alert stating "com.apple.Outlook.client.exe has stopped working and has been closed by Windows," or a similar message.

Hi All,
I have two questions.
Hi, when i try syncing with my hotmail app it says Authentication failed. Please verify username and/or password.
When i confirm the password and email address it just says the same again!
Has anyone else experienced this, it's really frustrating as i have to use my laptop now to see my emails!
I have recently updated the hotmail app to the rubbish rubbish outlook (windows phone) outlook app. However I CONSTANTLY have to log in so push email is pretty pointless as it won't remember my log in details. Has anyone else experienced this at all and/or have any solutions please?
Regards
Phil

A routine sever firmware update resulted in an anything but routine outage for Microsoft’s Outlook and Hotmail. On March 12, Outlook.com and Hotmail were unavailable to some users, and as Microsoft details in a blog post, a firmware update caused servers to overheat and go offline for 16 hours.
Hi all,
Is there any other mail app I can use for my Hotmail account rather than the Hotmail app or standard email app? (galaxy s3, if that makes a difference)
Thanks in advance
