Newbie’s Guide to Rooting
If you’re reading this article, chances are you’re either already rooted or thinking about rooting your device. The thing with rooting is that instead of folks falling into two different camps, I believe there are three camps.
Hello. I purchased a Samsung galaxy s2 from boost mobile last weeek and am interested in rooting it. This is my first samsung device as ive only used HTC and LG. ive read through this guide 2x but seeing as i just spen $300 i want to be sure im doing it correctly. i did update to JB through Kies the day i got this phone and It seems this guide was released for ICS.
I am a complete noob to rooting. I got my 16GB Wifi-Only Nexus 7 at X-Mas, and didnt know you could root things until a few weeks ago. It is my first android device. Can anybody give me a step by step guide to rooting my nexus? I don't know anything, although I've seen these words (rom, flash, fastboot, kernel) thrown around, and I have a general sense of what a rom and a kernel is.
I use this forum quite often, I figured I might as well sign up.
I understand the generic explanation of rooting but what I'm interested in is specifics. For example, what are things you do with your rooted phone. Tips and tricks. I've had my MAXX for a couple months now and just want to know some specific examples of what rooting will provide me....not just a generalized explanation.
i am new here and a complete noob when it comes to android and rooting etc.
i will be purchasing a nexus 7 today and i would like to root it. as i have done with other devices, i have done a little research into hacking the device. but this time, i am a bit confused as to what guide to follow for the nexus 7, as there are a few that are in the sticky section of this forum.
im on stock. my last 3 phones. touchpro etc were all rooted within minutes of getting them. ive searched for the benefits of rooting this phone. cant really find a list. can i get any opinions on it please? the benefits were obvious with the epic 4 g for instance but just wondering besides the obvious bloatware, if ill see that much difference rooting or not.. thanks aliot
Recently upgraded to an S3 from an S2 and now I'm ready to root and install NeatROM; I had total peace of mind when I rooted my S2 thanks to all the help I received from the S2 guys (thanks salesale, ironass, Hawker, volimte21 and the rest!) and I just want to check a couple of things before rooting my S3 so that I'm going into it with the same POM.
