I am trying to do safe process killing for salvaging memory. Is it safe to kill all background processes in a an activity by calling either ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses or IActivityManager.killAllBackgroundProcesses? I know it is painful in case one of the killed processes needs to be restarted, but is it safe?
Is there a launcher that has a custom grid? I like Nova launcher, but I don't like how the app drawer isn't all that customization. I'm planning to give ADW and APEX a try, but figured I'd also ask as well. As good as Nova is, I need to be able to customize my app drawer because I don't use many home pages.
Hi guys, I modified my phone background from white to black, and textcolor from black to white. But I found when press home screen, the items textcolor of menu "add to home screen" are white, the secondary menu items are black.
After the update to B10 that I got yesterday on my phone I thought it would be helpful to others to have a stock deodexed, rooted zip available... I couldn't resist a couple changes:
init.d enabled
flashlight ramdisk fix
deodexed
supersu
removed boot sound
everything else is stock, kernel system apps etc.
I have a galaxy s lll and I wondered if anyone knows how to get an app added back to the app drawer. I deleted a couple and can't figure out how to add new one's...
Thank you!
for those that want a custom rom.... this is a great tool i found to deodex your rom... with a deodexed rom, your rom will run faster and smoother

I am trying to use grub-customizer to add a custom background image and use the Ubuntu Condensed font. The preview looks fine:
But when I actually boot up, I get a messed-up configuration. The text is messed-up, with "unknown character" symbols appearing for the box around the boot menu options (because apparently only the default grub font has these special characters?).
Hello.
Yesterday before leaving work I did some updates on my ubuntu (the update manager popped out, I clicked Install and off it went). After it finished the system asked for a reboot, but I just turned it off, since I was leaving the office.
