Hi there,
I recently bought this Acer Aspire One 722 and I have used it for around two weeks under Windows 7 Ultimate X64. Everything runs smooth on it except for when playing 1080p videos in .MKV format or Youtube.
So now, I finally got to dual boot both Win7 and Ubuntu 11.10. I love Linux!
I'm running LANIGHT v4.2 DATADATA and playing 1080p mp4 movies do no play right. I get message stating that file can't be played by hardware and attempts to play through soft decoding of apps (use mobo player and mx player), the movies starts but lags terribly and after a couple of minutes it starts fast forwarding continously and wont stop if I don't manually do it.
As discussed in a separate question, embedded flash videos are abnormally heavy on GPU resources.
i am dual booting windows and ubuntu (12.04), and i am unable to play any videos(1080p) on it , while on windows everything works fine.
I am running Ubuntu 11.10 on my Pandaboard ES. I attempted to playback a 720p / 1080p video. In both cases, the videos were highly jittery and the audio seemed to be plagued with something that seemed to be white noise (sounds like white noise, but it definitely is not white noise). I was using VLC media player for playback and was running XFCE4 as the desktop ewnvironment.
Hey guys does YouTube app play the videos in 1080p or only in 720p?

Hello everyone,
I can't get my HD Radeon 6320 work at its best with Ubuntu 12.04 I have a U32U-RX028V laptop.
I can't play flash content in 720p or 1080p, even 480p in fullscreen lag.
I've read this post : How to optimize Flash in Firefox but it did not work.
I installed the drivers following Ubuntu Documentation.
Just wondering which codec does the HW video decoder support? The specs say this....
Video Player; Compatible Video Files, 3GPP, H.264, MPEG4, WMV; Video, Streaming
However, it does not say if it is through hardware decoding or software. Also, does the stock player support HW decoding? I want to say it does, but not 100% sure.
Thanks!
I'm trying to play 1080p video using MXPlayer, and keep having lag in them. I'm running the latest Alien Kernel and my own ROM. I notice I can't use the HW or HW+ decoders, only SW for these videos. I read on the app's website that this can sometimes be caused by a "customization" of the media components of the phone by the manufacturer.
