I've just managed to root my SGS, but I really would like flash custom kernel to get the voodoo sound and maybe if there is one that makes phone even faster, it would also be cool. I've found this list of custom kernels:

But it says in every one of them that firmware 2.3.4 is highly recommended, but mine is only 2.3.3. What should I do?

So, I was in the process of putting a custom ROM on my rooted Droid Razr when the download for the custom ROM didn't download correctly and I was already in the process of putting everything on the phone, so I left the the phone plugged up and let the download finish.

A friend of mine has an i9000 with GB installed on it and now he wants to root his phone. SuperOneClick and Z4Root didn't help. So, flashing a rooted kernel seems like an only option to me.

I've made a custom firmware for GTV564 based GoogleTV box.
With CIFS support and of course rooted.
