When I try to open a link to a *.pdf file, I get an error message that the file can't be opened, and to ensure that Adobe is in my PATH, variable. How do I fix this, please?
When trying to open an Adobe *.pdf file from Firefox, I get the following error:
I have successfully installed Adobe Reader 9.1. It shows up in firefox as a plugin properly.
It does NOT show up in edit->preferences as an Application (not sure if that matters).
However when I click on a PDF to download, I get an error in the browser:
I have installed Adobe Reader a few times, but it will not open on its own when clicked, nor can I open it when I download a file and open with Adobe Reader.
I'm trying to open a pdf file from a server in adobe reader. These are valid pdfs that I can view in other apps.
I have a file that contains filenames with absolute path.
In the middle of that path, is a variable directory, whenever I hard code the variable part, it works fine, but when I replace it with the variable name, the sed part doesn't work.
The sed part is to delete the pattern or for this matter, the path.
file=`echo $one_file | sed 's:/dir1/dir2/$VAR/last_dir/::'`
Downloaded and installed the Adobe reader.
But when I run it, I get the error msg:
/opt/Adobe/Reader9/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread: error while loading shared libraries: libxml2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
whereis doesn't find anything.
How do I find and install this file?
Problem: During Android development, in order to add ADB path to environment variable; I did following things in short-
gedit /etc/environment - Added my desired path in the file such as :/media/Software/00.AndroidLinux/ADT/sdk/platform-tools
But, What I noticed that, adding path to the file has no effect to $PATH until I reboot my Ubuntu.
