http://techcrunch.com – PRWeb has just put out a press release about the fraudulent press release it released (and we erroneously reported) this morning. Ha. From the press release: PRWeb transmitted a press release for ICOA that we have since learned was fraudulent. The release was not issued or authorized by ICOA. Vocus reviews all press releases and follows an internal process designed to maintain the integrity of the releases we send out every day. Even with reasonable safeguards identity theft occurs, on occasion, across all of the major wire services. We have removed the fraudulent release and turned the matte (IT news)

I’d want to make modifier keys (control, alt, shift, meta, super, lv3_switch) to act like usual keys, I mean, without holding one of them to perform associated key combination. Say C-x M-1 can by typed like

press Ctrl key — release Ctrl key press x key — release x key press Meta key — release Meta key press 1 key — release 1 key

so that can be performed even with one hand key-by-key!

I use kde. Unfortunately gestures like: press b:2, press g, release b:2 are not supported. They're not even supported (afaik) by xbindkeys. It's the reason I ask here.

When I do press my CTRL-key it seems to lock in the pressed state, even after releasing it. Symptoms of this are for example that if I press CTRL, release it and scroll in my browser window the size of the text changes. After the combination is triggered CTRL is immediatly released.

It happenend to me only since Ubuntu 12.10.
